Back from the financial brink: Ecom mentor Teddy Briggs’s guide to go from nothing in the bank to six-figures
Coming back from the brink of financial ruin, Teddy Briggs now helps everyday Australians take their online businesses from side hustle to full-time job.
The business mentor teaches budding entrepreneurs how to create their own profitable eCommerce business from home, nurturing them with a series of tools he has developed to take them from having no experience to creating six-figure money-making ventures.
Teddy specialises in building businesses from the ground up using Shopify and dropshipping.
“I think most business education, mentorship, and training is just the same repeated stuff. It’s confusing and hard to understand for the average person and the people teaching it are usually bland,” Teddy said.
“I have some unusual methods and think in a different way. Rather than teaching people with experience or who are naturally tech-savvy, I prefer to work with complete beginners! I sucked at school and wasn’t good with technology as an adult so I know what it takes to learn. I want to share that with other people.”
While his Instagram feed shows high-end cars, private jets, and all-round luxury, Teddy came from humble beginnings. He was completely broke, with a growing credit card debt and an overdrawn bank account. At one stage he even appeared on a TV show but this did not change his situation. His health was also horrible and his relationship had blown up – life was at a low point.
“There was a time when I wanted to get coffee with a friend and my card declined. The coffee was only $4. I had a very pessimistic view of life during that time. Who would have thought I would one day be healthy, happy, and financially free?”
Teddy began his own Ecom startup in 2018 after growing tired of the standard nine to five office hours.
After learning from mentor Eli Dangerfield, he was able to build success in his business. He is now turning over up to $AUD107,000 in a single month and continues to grow.
He later joined forces with Eli to create a mentorship and education program to share their success with others. Since starting, Teddy has helped hundreds of people make money online, which he describes as “honestly the most fulfilling thing I have ever done”.
“Knowing where I come from is why it’s so important for me to help others. I know what it feels like to go through tough times, I know what it’s like to be stuck in a job you hate and I also know what it feels like to finally have that spare money for a new car or holiday and quit that job,” Teddy said.
“This is why I want to not only help people with skills in eCommerce but to motivate them and help them to keep a positive attitude.”
Teddy specialises in helping people figure out where to start in the Ecom space. Most of his clients are sick of the rat-race in their jobs as teachers or accountants. These people want to build an online income stream to give them the financial freedom they crave and allow them a taste of the finer things in life.
“Most people’s problem when starting out is not knowing where to begin, what to sell, who to sell it to, and how they are going to sell it. I step in and solve this problem, giving students a step-by-step blueprint that they can follow along with all the relevant support and guidance that is going to aid them in reaching their goals faster,” he said.
“When we are young we are taught that you go to school, you get a job, you have a family and then you work your ass off to be able to retire at 65.”
“Honestly, I think this is horrible social conditioning we have had drummed into us. Life is meant to be enjoyed, not spent locked away slaving away in a job you hate only to make just enough money to pay your bills.”
