Innovative Educational Experiences Combine Project-Based Learning and Emerging Technologies

Chicago, Illinois – December 14, 2020 – NextWave STEM, a minority-owned TechEd company providing STEM programming for teachers and students K-12, announced new opportunities for seven school districts to offer the award-winning curriculum and teacher training in STEM using emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, drone coding and 3D technology, including 3D modeling and 3D printing. The seven school districts are Aldine, Conroe, Denton, Lamar, Northside, Pasadena, and Texas City.

“We are very excited to bring STEM programming,” said Udit Agarwal, Program Director for NextWave STEM. “Our unique programming provides immersive STEM training for teachers and project-based courses for students. We look forward to partnering with these districts and providing innovative STEM experiences in these emerging technologies.”

Offerings presented by NextWave STEM include:

  • STEM Curriculum & Equipment Bundles. Bundles include lesson plans for in-person or remote learning. Courses include overviews and pacing guides, teacher guides, presentation slides, student worksheets with answer keys, and extension opportunities.
  • STEM Professional Development & Teacher Training. This includes intensive training in curriculum, equipment, and instructional strategies. A subscription to NextWave STEM’s learning management system and one year of implementation support also are included.
  • We Teach” STEM Programs & Online Instruction. There are two main options for course delivery. NextWave STEM’s certified instructors inspire and teach students directly, either virtually or in-person, during or after school, while classroom teachers have the option to co-teach or simply observe.

NextWave STEM’s courses are differentiated by grade level, promote college and career readiness, encourage small group collaboration, and easily integrate with Google Classrooms. The NextWave STEM curriculum is aligned to standards that include the NGSS Grade Band Engineering Technology Standards, Common Core Math and ELA as they relate to the NGSS ETS standards, and ISTE, CSTA and 21st Century Skills standards related to emerging technologies and STEM.
