Pittsburgh Photography Board Selects 2022 President
Jen Worley of Jen Barker Worley Photography is pleased to announce that the new 2022 board has been selected for the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP).
The American Society of Media Photographers is a professional association of imaging professionals, whether photographers, videographers, or content creators. It includes photographers specializing in architecture, portrait, food/culinary, commercial, advertising, and photojournalism. ASMP advocates for photographers’ legal rights, collaboration among members and provides business and technical resources. Jen Worley, a Pittsburgh photography professional, is the 2022 President of the Board.
According to the experienced headshot photographer, the new board kicked off their year by redefining the chapter’s mission: “To grow a vibrant, inclusive community of media professionals in the Pittsburgh region, to elevate the quality and value of our field for all creatives.”
During the first half of 2022, the eight-member board has taken on the challenge of creating programming in the coming-out-of-Covid world. Some of their work this year has been: Virtual Portfolio Reviews featuring national reviewers from the advertising, media and consultant arena and monthly meet-ups to facilitate networking with other local photographers, local camera shops, and associations. An Assistant Workshop, which is geared toward college students, and a photography program for the McKeesport Community Newsroom have been added to the activities planned by the board members.
